Lets a pack and a controller that do not speak the same language work together: CAN, UART or LIN conversion, adaptation of state-of-charge frames and alarm thresholds. Useful for fleet retrofits when the original pack is no longer supplied. It does not bypass the cryptographic protections of paired systems — on those drives, only reconditioning the original pack is possible.
